Recommend having a full review of the senior hurling team's season.  An independent person take on the responsibility to find out where the season went wrong.  Preferably through a questionnaire/anonymous format so players can air their views in a constructive manor which may help the team going forward.

Shane O`Neills v St. Endas

Following a midweek defeat to Armoy in the semi-final of the Countess of Antrim cup Glenarm regrouped and vented their frustration on a St. Endas team who will be wondering what hit them, as the blues hit them with a barrage of scoresfrom the first minute to the last. Darren Hamill scored a point in the first minute and the final minute and six more besides. The home team were ahead by five when on twentyfive mins Barry Hamill flashed home a poor block by St. Endas keeper to take the lead to eight, two further points gave a h/t score 1-11, 0-4. The second half was more of the same with twelve points in a clinical rapid display in tough blustery conditions giving a f/t score 1-23, 0-8.

Glenarm travelled to the Glen road venue with a very young, inexperienced squad for Sundays game with St. Teresa`s and came away not only with two pts, but with lots of positivies following a strong performance. The opening score of the game came after three minutes from the stick of Liam Mitchell, one of ten teenagers on the starting fifteen. Hugh-Pat McNeill then extended the the lead to two with a neatly struck point before the home team drew level on nine mins. The rest of the half was a fairly close affair. But the visitors did stretch the h/t lead to four (0-8, 0-12) with scores from, Blaine McDermott, Liam O`Neill 2, Connor McNeill, Patrick McAuley 4, Darren Hamill, H P McNeill. Glenarm suffered a setback on 23 mins when full-back Kevin Cottrell received his marching orders for a second yellow card offence. Teams exchanged a brace of points early in the second half, before, on the tenth min Declan McDermott fired low to the home net to put seven between them. The visitors continued to pour on the pressure and scores from Patrick McAuley, Darren Hamill, Declan McDermott, Sean O`Hare, Blaine McDermott, and H P McNeill gave them a comfortable nine point cushion. Best for Glenarm in defence were Liam Mulvenna , Jake Hamilton, and Aidan O`Neill. Patrick McAuley at midfield, while up front Hugh-Pat McNeill, Declan McDermott, and Liam O`Neill were firing on all cylinders

Tain Ulster Hurling League Division 3 Final

Tain Ulster hurling league Div 3 final

                                                             Shane O`Neills, Glenarm 1-13. Emmets, Cushendun 1-5.

Blain McDermott got Glenarm of to a perfect start after just one min with a pointed free, but Cushenduns reply was immediate with a point from Sharkey. This point was to be Cushenduns only score for twenty four mins, thanks mainly to the tight marking from a well tuned Glenarm defence, bolstered by brave keeping by Dunga, who just passed a late fitness test to make the starting fifteen. During those twenty four mins Glenarm pegged on six points from Darren Hamill (3), Brendan McDermott (2), and Keke (1), then on twenty six mins Conleith McNeill got his teams second to give a h/t score 0-7, 0-2.

The first three scores in the second half went to the boys in blue with points a-piece for Brendan McDermott, Patrick McAuley, and Declan McDermott. A point for Dominic McQuillan (Emmets) and Brendan McDermott (Glenarm), left the margain at eight points, then on twelve mins Owen McQuillan fired low to the Glenarm net to bring the difference to five. Cushendun at this stage were playing with much more vigor but failed to show their dominance on the score board. Glenarm were then awarded a penalty when Darren Hamill was dragged down in the small parrellagram, the penalty was perfectly executed by Darren himself  and one min later he lost his marker to fire over a fine point. Two more points for Cushendun gave them a glimmer of hope but it was too little too late, and on the twentyninth min Padraig McDermott combined well with one of his three brothers, Brendan, to fire over a long distance point, the last score of the game to leave a full-time result 1-13, 1-5.

The game was played in good spirit, and was well marshalled by ref Frankie Trainor. The result sees both teams in good early season form and hope for a tilt at div three in the all county league.

Tain club hurling league Div 3 play off. Glenarm 4-16, Na Magha 3-10.

A bright, blowy afternoon  in Rasharkin,, Glenarm playing with the breeze first half, and they certainly took advantage. Inside the first minute Barry Hamill fired low to the net, a point one minute later from Hugh-Pat McNeill and a goal by Darren Hamill sixty seconds after that gave the blues a lead they never gave up. The Derry men got the next score of the game on ten mins followed soon by a wonderful point from a forty yard sideline by Blain Mcdermott. Alan Furlong lobbed a goal for Na Magha on the quarter mark, but that goal was immediately cancelled out by a crafty flick from the wiley old stick of Connor McNeill. Points from Darren Hamill, Declan, Brendan, and Blaine McDermott gave a h/t score 3-7, 1-3.  Second half began brightly for the boys in green with points on one, two, and five mins closing the gap, Glenarm then out-scored their opponents over a twelve min period by eight pts to four. Goals from T. Douban 25 min, and D. Foley 28 min for the city men gave them a glimmer of hope, only to be snubbed out by a goal on 30 min Liam O`Neill. f/t 4-16, 3-10.

Paudraig McDermott was voted man-of-the-match, while best for the losers was Alan Grant.

           St. Endas 1-11, Shane O`Neills 3-14.
By Terrence Mulvenna

The first playable league fixture of the season saw Glenarm travel to Mallusk playing fields to face St. Endas. The visitors were sharp from the first whistle with brothers Barry and Darren Hamill bagging a goal-a-piece in the second and sixth minutes against two pts for the home team, a lead which they give up. The next fifteen minutes points were exchanged, with Blain McDermott firing over three pts from frees then on twenty two mins Declan McDermott evaded a barrage of attention to score Glenarms third goal. Points each for Barry Hamill, Hugh-Pat McNeill, and Liam O`Neill and Glenarm led 3-6, 0-7 at h/t.

St. Endas  came out blazing at the start of the second half  scoring a goal through John McGoldrick on four mins put them on top for the third quarter. It was up to Blain McDermott to steady the ship with his sharp shooting from placed ball efforts, six from six. The home teams challenge was snubbed in the final quarter however as the boys in blue grew stronger and pegged on pts from Brendan McDermott, Declan McDermott, Darren Hamill, and Jake Hamilton to run out winners , 3-14, 1-11.
